TEXTURES OF WRITING
with Denise Lach
Many factors determine the "weave" of a script. The layout, the connection between words, the size and weight, the balance between black and white – these are some of them. We will weave our letters into small texts and work with the same sentence and format throughout the workshop. By constantly changing the parameters, we will open a window to the infinite possibilities of creating textures. This graphic vocabulary will also enable us to interpret images. The approach is meant to be playful and does not exclude those who do not practice calligraphy. The love of letters, a little fantasy, concentration and a certain taste for risk are nevertheless necessary. The objective of this workshop is to enrich our graphic vocabulary and scriptural conception.
